Hello,

As a Mexican-American woman pursuing a career in journalism, I am eager to cover people and stories often overlooked. My identity is my motivation to bring diversity to newsrooms and the content we produce. I grew up in a rural agricultural town, which helped me develop resourcefulness and creativity. I taught myself Adobe Creative Suite, and can always find a story to cover.

I was raised in a small agricultural town in California’s Salinas Valley that was also home to the famous author John Steinbeck and marches led by civil rights advocate and labor union icon Cesar Chavez. The secluded area taught me to be resourceful and advocate for my Latino community. My childhood home exposed me to the importance of community.
